The story of

Masala Chai

What we know as chai in Australia, is in fact called Masala chai in India where it originates from. Chai is the Hindi word for tea and masala means spice, so masala chai essentially translates to Spiced tea. And chai tea actually means ‘tea tea’ ha! Whatever you want to call it, it’s delicious!

Founder Lachie fell in love with chai whilst travelling through India and Nepal back in 2013. Like many travellers to South Asia before him, drinking chai became part of the every day routine. Walking the city streets, there would be a chaiwala on every other street corner, selling their own unique blend. Chai represents India in a cup, earthy spices, sweet and complex.
